There's so much going on in grade 7!
We are wrapping up our Industrial Revolution unit with Inventor's Projects. Students chose an inventor from the IR that had a major impact on society. They range from lesser known inventor's from England to 20th century inventors from the U.S. Students shared their presentations with their Social Studies classes over the last week.
We are also wrapping up our gamified aspect of the IR unit. All students will get a reward for completing the unit, but as an added bonus for students who pushed themselves beyond 200XP, an extra prize will be awarded. Stay tuned to Instagram for pics! (@harrismjhs17)
Each class has now participated in two Mystery Skypes! Ask your 7th grader about them. We have had a blast connecting with other classrooms around North America!
I hope you are able to stop by room 17 when you have your conference this week. You can check out the XP boards, Mystery Skype map, and say hello!
Don't forget that the grades 7/8 coin war is happening this week, all to benefit the Lincoln Area Food Cupboard. Pennies and dollars count as positive points and silver counts as negative. My homeroom students have enjoyed "silver bombing" the 8th graders! Please donate to this worthy cause.
