Students are settling in nicely to being 7th graders. It's almost like we never left for summer! Students participated in an archaeological simulation in social studies class on Tuesday, using their skills of observation and inference to work with teammates to analyze artifacts. It was a fun way to simulate the job of an archaeologist and to think about how we use evidence to make guesses about what happened in the past. We have since started a unit around the learning target Culture: Awareness & Understanding. Our unit will focus on the Wabanaki people of Maine. If you have any personal connections to the Wabanaki culture or some artifacts that you would like to share, please let me know! Have a great weekend!
